Microphone Cupcakes Cone

These microphone cupcakes are creatively made from ice cream cones and cake mix then decorated to look like a microphone. Microphone cake cones are just want a tween (or maybe even an adult) would love who enjoys music.

Here is a great microphone cupcakes recipe

You Will Need:
  • A store bought cake mix
  • 2 can 16 oz. each vanilla frosting
  • A few drops of black food coloring
  • 24 ice cream cones
  • 1 cup edible silver dragees 
  • 24 pieces ( 6 inches each) black licorice 
How To Do It:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Make the cake mix according to the box directions. Line (2) 24 mini-muffin tins with liners and fill with 1 tbsp. of batter. Bake until set approximately 12 minutes rotating the pans halfway through cooking time. Let cool, then remove from pans and toss the liners. 
  • Mix the food coloring into frosting until it turns a grayish color. Use a sharp knife to trim off the domed cupcake tops. Spread some frosting around the inner rim of the cones to use as a glue to hold the cupcakes in place. Place 1 cake right side up and frost the top. Now place on the second cake trim side down and frost the top.
  • Working over a bowl, coat the cupcakes with the dragees. Now poke a hole in the bottom of the cone with a toothpick to a hold the licorice piece stick in the hole.

21st Birthday Cake Guys & Girls Ideas

Are you brainstorming ideas for a 21st birthday cake and looking for something to spark your imagination? Turning 21 means you're finally legal to drink alcohol hence, usually the theme for the 21st birthday party.  



I found some great 21st birthday cake pictures for guys and girls on pinterest. There's a nice selection of cakes that are sure to get your creative juices flowing. Some of these cakes are edible and some are drinkable. Some are both, such as the beer cans topped with cupcakes. Neat idea! 



21st Birthday Beer Bottle/Can Tutorial

What You'll Need

1. 18 Corona Extra cans (10 on the bottom tier/ 8 on the middle tier)

2. 5 Corona Extra glass bottles

3. 3 cake tiers (I used sizes 12", 10", and 8")

4. Gold ribbon (or whatever color you want)

5. Wooden letter initial of person receiving the cake

6. Glitter Foam Sticker Paper (I used that to cover the black letter)

7. Balloon weights for the star sticks sticking out of the cake

8. Candle Numbers ( I covered mine in silver glitter foam paper to match)

9. Beaded necklaces (color of choice)

10. Bamboo sticks to stick into candles to make them stick up

11. Aluminum Foil to cover the cardboard cake trays (to match)

12. A Hot glue gun

13. Adhesive tape to hold the beer cans together

14. Scissors

15. Something to put in between beer cans (you can use a small towel)
